Greetings, my peeps!

I just got back from Hollywood (somewhere I haven’t been in about a million year) after attending a Black History Month roundtable featuring Black special operations veterans and a civil rights leader. It was held in an incredible American Legion Hall right in the heart of Hollywood and cohosted by BLK Ops. One of my old Vance AFB workmates served as moderator and is also part of the team. He was even featured in one of their episodes, so if you want to see something ultra cool, check out my friend Rob Zackery’s episode, The Chief.

The speakers were incredibly inspiring. What struck me most was that the entire session was driven by audience questions rather than canned moderator prompts. People stood up, asked thoughtful questions, and engaged in real conversations. It felt authentic, powerful, and deeply respectful.

And yes… this is absolutely book fodder for me.

If you’ve ever wondered where my protector heroes come from, this is it. Listening to real-life warriors talk about leadership, sacrifice, and service never fails to light a creative fire. The trip definitely served a two-fold purpose: inspiration and research.

On that note, I’m starting to lean into the release of Tate, Book 3 in the St. Michael’s Solutions series, so expect to see some fun promo content coming your way soon. Tate is very much a protector hero shaped by the kind of men and women I had the privilege of listening to this weekend.

I’m also participating in a spicy romantic suspense promo where destination and setting are the theme, and let’s be honest… Vegas fits that bill perfectly. If you love high-stakes settings, dangerous secrets, and protective heroes, cruise over to BookFunnel and check out some fantastic romantic suspense reads.

To close it all out, here’s a quick video from my Hollywood adventure. It was a makeup weekend–rare for me these day–and the perfect blend of inspiration, history, and a little creative recharge.
